Somewhere on the internet, someone has written that Ahangama isn't for everyone, and they're not wrong exactly — but they're also missing most of the story. That's the honest starting point for this whole question: yes, there are rough edges, and pretending otherwise would be exactly the kind of dishonest travel writing that's made "authentic" into a meaningless word.
